Casa Luis Barragán

Not to miss when visiting Mexico City is experiencing some of the work of the iconic Mexican architect Louis Barragan. You find his work scattered around all over the city. Some are public, like Torres de Satélite, while others are private houses open for guide tours. One of the main buildings is Casa Luis Barragán, built-in 1948. This was his home and studio, and it is on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Tickets for the tours get sold out quickly when released, so do plan accordingly. Next door, you will find Casa Ortega, and a few blocks away, Case Pedrali, which was all built by Barraragan and is open for guided tours.
Mi Compa Chava

In Mexico City, you can get Mexican cuisine on almost every corner. However, one spot that serves one of the best meals in town is Mi Compa Chava. They have two locations, and we urge you to visit the one in Roma: industrial setting, attentive, helpful staff and fantastic seafood. You must order a Costa de Camaron housemade flour tortilla filled with a cheese crust, bean, shrimp and topped with avocado. Do note that there is no reservation, so arrive 15 min before they open. But if you have to queue, the food will be worth the wait. We promise.

Studio Bosco Sodi

One of the finer gallery spaces and architectural structures in CMDX is in the Atlampa neighbourhood. The Mexican contemporary artist Bosco Sodi has opened a new studio, gallery, and residency in Mexico City designed by architect Alberto Kalach. The building's mixed materials, such as red brick, concrete, and wood, perfectly suit the Mexican light. Also, in this space, you find Casa Wabi Sabino, Fundación Casa Wabi's Mexico City location. The Foundation is a non-commercial, non-profit exhibition space that allows emerging artists to show their work. Check out their website for the exhibition, and make sure to make an appointment to enter.
Bomboti

Mexico City offers many good retail stores. The eclectic Bomboti is one of the best in the city. It is located in the Polanco district, which is noted for its luxury shopping. This is the place to buy authentic Mexican apparel, furniture, and housewares. The store is a feast for the eyes, as it is well-curated and put together. The question is, how much space do you have in your suitcase for objects to bring back home?

Museo Jumex

The Jumex museum building, with its pointed roof structure, rises as an icon amid the complex urban landscape in the Polanco district. Designed by the British architect David Chipperfield, it houses one of Latin America's largest private collections of contemporary art. You will always find interesting revolving exhibitions on display, so this is a museum worth checking out. The museum shop is one of the better ones, and from the different levels of the museum, you will catch some good photo ops of the striking building next door, containing Museo Soumaya.

A must-visit for food is the renowned seafood restaurant Contramar, founded by chef Gabriela Cámara in Mexico City. With marine murals and white tablecloths, this airy dining room is always busy with a good mix of locals and international visitors. The stellar menu consists of freshly caught fish and shellfish, and one of their legendary delicious dishes is the raw tuna tostada.

They specialise in natural wines and have a great selection from around the globe. If you are hungry, they serve delicious small plates, perfect for sharing.
