Experience the serenity and catharsis of standing in the rain without getting wet in this remarkable art installation. Created by the London and Berlin-based art group, Random International, the Rain Room has become one of Sharjah’s most iconic attractions. Originally a traveling exhibit, it’s now a permanent exhibit courtesy of the Sharjah Art Foundation. Audiences are ushered into a dark underground space. As they wander around, 2,500 liters of self-cleaning recycled water pour down. Guests can wander around, safe from getting drenched thanks to trigger sensors stopping the downpour. Overall, the experience explores how humans’ connection to each other and nature is increasingly being altered by intangible technology.
