Designer's Note

“This project is the first Jinan store in China, also known as the “City of Springs”. Our concept was to reinterpret the urban landscape with 72 famous fountains in a spatial design. We designed a perspective view featuring circular volumes, such as counters and benches, inspired by the form of a fountain and arranged in a dynamic, multi-directional manner. This visual effect is achieved by using mirrored walls, even though the actual volumes are quarter or half-circle shapes, optimized for efficient space utilization. Visitors can enjoy a unique circular circulation experience, walking around the counters, benches, and pillars, and then find their own comfortable spot to enjoy their coffee.

The façade was designed to be in dialogue with the interior. The challenge was to create a façade with a multi-directional appearance. By dividing the existing outline, which is a mixture of curves and straight lines, into five equal parts and arranging panels with gentle identical curves, the final façade conveys a mysterious impression.”
