Xiangshan derives its name from the word “xiang” which means “elephant” in Chinese, making this trail known by another name - Elephant Mountain. The hike takes around 15 to 20 minutes to make it to the top so this is a great hike for beginners. It’s best traversed either in the early morning or close to evening for the best views of Taipei in the morning or late afternoon. Watch the sunrise or sunset from the top of the trail, which provides a breathtaking view of the city of Taipei. Highly recommended destination for your trip to Taiwan’s capital.
