
Shunde district in Foshan of Guangzhou province is the origin of Cantonese cuisine. Guo Ran Ju is a Cantonese restaurant with a beautiful garden that represents the food culture of Shunde and the architectural culture of Lingnan. Lingnan architecture comprises local architecture and influences from neighboring Southeast Asia regions, such as Singapore and Indonesia. Soup is a big part of Cantonese culinary culture. Guo Ran Ju serves great fish soup with kudzu root and pork, slow cooked for two hours to get a rich flavor that also nourishes the lungs. This soup was awarded at the China Chefs Festival.
